[https://apexlegendsfans.com/ Apex Legends Missions] Legends is currently making its way through Season 5, and as with all of its previous seasons, there are plenty of cosmetics to acquire. Some of them are for legends, while many others are meant to spice up the look of the weapons you've already been using for well over a year in Respawn 's hit free-to-play game. With that many new skins in the game, it can be hard figuring out which ones are the best of the bunch. Luckily this article will hopefully do exactly that for you. Let's now look at the 10 best weapon skins in Season 5 of [https://apexlegendsfans.com/ Apex Legends cheats] Legends .

10 Kraber - Magma Might

Puns are an interesting slice of comedy as they happen to be very divisive. Some people love puns, and others hate them. The Kraber's Season 5 skin is called Magma Might, which for Pokémon fans feels like a play on the electric magnet Pokémon's name, Magnemite. Magma Might is about what you'd expect from a skin with that name as it looks like images of magma pools grafted onto the weapon like a weird form of wallpaper. In the meta the Kraber is currently a Top 5 weapon, so you may be seeing a lot of Magma Might in your future.

9 Triple Take - Scarab's Bite

The Triple Take is an interesting sniper rifle that seems useless until it's used by someone very skilled. Scarab's Bite is the Season 5 skin for the Triple Take and it feels like an homage to Widowmaker of Overwatch . Purple and black are the primary colors of the design, which happens to have speckles of red sprinkled throughout. You may not be using this gun much in Season 5 as it isn't a top tier weapon, but it may be neat to roleplay as Widowmaker in the odd chance it's the only gun you have.

8 Mastiff - Gift Of Power

Before Season 5 a Mastiff skin would have been a difficult sell as it was a specialized ultra-rare weapon, but with Season 5 the Mastiff was placed into the normal weapon spawn rotation.

The powerful close-range shotgun is a must-have for those who love fighting in tight spots and the Gift of Power skin makes it a bit more of an art piece. The mostly white and black design is accented with fiery balls of what looks to be lava cascading from the gun itself. It may not be Season 5's best skin, but it certainly isn't its worst.

7 Hemlok - Spine Chiller

Some may scoff at this entry as both the skin and weapon seem to not be befitting of this list at first glance. The Hemlok has come into favor in the Season 5 meta, so it belongs on this list in some capacity. As for the skin, it's a tougher sell. Is it easy on the eyes and heavily desired? No, not really. It does however feature an organic looking design that makes it look unique and also plays into the lore of the franchise as a whole. With all of that considered it seems that the #7 spot made all too much sense.

6 Charge Rifle - Gilded Hunt

Sometimes in games, it feels like cosmetic items are universal and meant to work with a variety of characters, and sometimes it feels like they were made for an unnamed perfect pairing. The Gilded Hunt skin for the Charge Rifle definitely feels like the latter as the aesthetics of it magnetize it to the engineering legend, Wattson. The stark white coloring with subtle patterns makes it feel more like a tool and less like a weapon. Considering she dabbles with electricity, maybe the Charge Rifle is Wattson's preferred gun of choice.

5 Peacekeeper - Evolved Flow

The Evolved Flow skin for the Peacekeeper is appealing in a very unappealing way. As a skin, it's a little messy and chaotic, but for some reason, it works on the Peacekeeper. This is likely due to the shape of the shotgun and helps the design feel more like a gradient and less like a mashing of two separate designs.

Most players will tell you that the Peacekeeper has always been a game-wrecker for close-quarters combat, and for better or worse nothing has changed in Season 5 for the shotgun.

4 Wingman - Precision Caliber

In Season 5 the Wingman still isn't a top tier weapon in the game, but it is nice that it saw some love via skins. Every season the game tends to end the battle pass with a pair of skins for a specific weapon. The most notable was when the R-301 Carbine received a pair of rhinoceros inspired skins, with one being gold and the other silver. The Wingman received the same treatment and its Precision Caliber skin happens to have a flashier golden design, whereas its counterpart which we'll get into later is a lot more subtle.

3 Hemlok - Retrofitted

For the longest time, the Hemlok was seen as a burst assault rifle that should only be used as a last resort. In Season 5, however, it has quickly ascended in the meta to be a clear and decisive top ten choice. The Retrofitted skin makes the gun feel even more high-class and pairs nicely with the numerous new legend skins the season introduced. Whenever you pair a maroon color with gold and black accents you're already playing with house money in regards to creating a design people will want to acquire and equip.

2 Spitfire - Bad Mojo

If this list was simply about ranking the names of all of the Season 5 weapon skins, you'd be hard-pressed to find one better than the Bad Mojo skin for the Spitfire. The Spitfire is a large and powerful light-machine gun that was once highly coveted but has recently fallen off due to players preferring other weapons in its weapon class.

This skin screams mad scientist vibes and is going for a witch doctor or voodoo vibes. The green coloring is striking and is paired with skull-like imagery throughout.

1 Wingman - Attention To Detail

Earlier the sister-skin to Attention To Detail, titled Precision Caliber was discussed, and it featured a design that was much more flashy. For Attention To Detail, it's a skin for the Wingman that focuses on looking a bit more practical, but still being flashy enough to be coveted by players. It's a reward players receive for reaching the maximum level of the Season 5 battle pass which is neat. The only bummer is that the Wingman currently isn't a top tier weapon in the ongoing meta of the game.

NEXT: Apex Legends: 10 Little Known Facts About The Toxic Legend, Caustic

Apex Legends is more than a year old, yet one aspect that's been problematic since the game’s genesis still continues to be an issue in the game: toxic random squadmates.

Like many team games, players who join the game without full teams will find themselves placed with random players.

For the most part, randoms won’t cause problems. They either won’t talk, or they’ll call out suggestions to help guide the game and support weaker players in gunfights.

But every so often, a random player can spoil the experience. And sometimes, this happens numerous times in a row, which can prove to be extremely frustrating for people who just want to play the game.

Toxic Randoms Spoil The Game For Others

In games of Apex Legends , I’ve found myself matched with profile names that are blatantly racist (they used workarounds to pass spam filters). Once, the first thing someone said was a sexual comment. I’ve been told I was trash for losing a fight by missing a shotgun shot. Random players frequently separate from their teammates, go AFK in the middle of a fight with no explanation and can be toxic in any number of other ways.

In the past few weeks, I've twice watched someone back out of a game because I chose the character they wanted to play. Both times, it was because my game defaulted to the character because I didn't make a selection. In one instance, I even apologized after noticing the other player had wanted to be the character I had chosen, but the player backed out anyway. It's important to note that in Apex Legends , selection order is randomized. In both cases, my name popped up first on the selection menu, meaning I had every right to choose whichever character I wanted to play. Regardless, backing out for something so mundane is problematic because my team is forced to play the game as a squad of two up against squads of three, which makes the game much more difficult.

I recently read a sarcastic remark after I bailed on reviving a teammate. My infraction? I jumped up and ran away after I discovered I was about to get hit by a grenade that would have killed me.

Recently, I was matched with someone whose name was a play on the coronavirus. Perhaps merely evidence of a juvenile sense of humor, it hits different when 23,000 people in your city have died of the virus.

I don't even bother to go on comms, because the last thing I want is for these random teammates to use the fact that I'm a female to harass me.

A video recently emerged on Reddit showing exactly how toxic random players can be. A player downs two enemies only to get knocked before a teammate kills the third. The teammates then refuse to revive the downed player. To see it and know there are few consequences for these actions is frustrating, to say the least.

The easiest fix would be to play only with players one trusts. However, one key issue is that my friends range from far better to me to far worse than me, which poses challenges with skill-based matchmaking. Even though my K/D is below one and I have a win rate of 5 percent, squadding up with my higher-skill friends means there will almost certainly be Apex Predators in our lobby.

How To Solve The Issue Of Toxic Random Squadmates

So, what do we do about randoms? There’s an option to report players, but if it’s because they said something toxic and it’s not documented, that option doesn’t seem helpful.

Do we shame them publicly? Certainly, publicly shaming them won’t help if they have no public identity attached to their gamer persona.

Should we ignore bad behavior? Perhaps, but it’s not always easy to ignore rude comments and actions when teammates are being selfish and callous.

One solution is the one that Overwatch implemented, which allows players to endorse other players at the end of each game. In that game, endorsements only reflect positive attributes, such as Sportsmanship, Good Teammate and Shot Caller.

As applied to randoms, this optional metric would be a terrific way to incentivize good behavior. Perhaps the result of numerous positive endorsements could be a guaranteed legendary item, a unique skydive emote or [https://Apexlegendsfans.com/ https://Apexlegendsfans.com/] a special profile badge.

Further, this could help balance the lobbies. The theory would be that someone who has gotten "good teammate" accolades has earned the right to not have to squad with potentially toxic teammates. It wouldn’t have to be the case every game, but the "good teammate" would overall have the benefit of playing far fewer games with potentially toxic randoms.

via: Electronic Arts

Revenant glares while holding a weapon in Apex Legends.

As a non-pro player, I’ll always make mistakes. I’ll try to revive a teammate when I should be fighting, and I’ll miss shots that I know aren’t difficult for good players. But I’ve put around 1500 hours into Apex Legends , and yet I can’t recall a time I’ve ever become vocally frustrated with a teammate without obvious provocation. Those I play with will also sometimes run out ahead just to get downed or will push fights they have no chance of winning, but I trust they are doing their best and aim to support them as teammates no matter their choices.

Toxicity is nothing new in gaming. But I fail to understand why we should continue to allow this behavior to continue if there’s something we can do to mitigate it and reward those who don’t engage. I’ve had friends uninstall [https://Apexlegendsfans.com/ Apex Legends updates] Legends due to frustration with random squadmates.

Video games should be fun. But issues with random players detract from the experience. It’s time for Respawn to step in and develop a strategy for dealing with players who can’t play with basic respect and decency.

For more Apex Legends discussion and analysis, check out TheGamer’s new podcast, Pexin’ with the Legends .

READ NEXT: [https://Apexlegendsfans.com/ Apex Legends story guide] Legends: 10 Things You Didn't Know About The Toxic One, Caustic
