The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst at Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.
He evaluates and tests cleaning appliances. His main focus is mopping and robot vacuum combinations. These multitaskers are a great option for those looking to cross mopping off the to-do list. They feature impressive mapping and obstacles-avoiding capabilities, and some wash and refill their own mopping pads for a hands-off clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
This is the model you should pick if you are looking for a robot vacuum cleaner that also mop. It's smaller than other models on this list making it easier to navigate in tight corners and under furniture. It uses a 220 degree lidar which, when paired with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it some of the best navigation and obstacle avoidance I've ever seen in a robot vacuum. It's got a battery of 4600mAh that can last up to 170 minutes when mopping and sucking is set to standard mode. (It can run longer on turbo). It can even return to the dock to top up its battery midway through cleaning.
It's very efficient and does a great job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted rooms incredibly quickly and the hardwood floors in the living room, and hallways in a single sweep. Its suction motor of 8,000pa will quickly pick up dirt, droppings, and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically increases power when it detects rugs and the dual side brush assists in removing debris from corners.
The mopping performance, while still impressive, is not as good. The rotating mop spins fast and uses 2.2lbs to scrub dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arm protrudes out a bit more than other robots. This is useful when getting into difficult corners or on baseboards. The front arms can also be used to sweep larger objects, such as broken toys or books.
Another great feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums with mop vacuums and mops I've ever used. It doesn't produce as loud of a sound when mopping or vacuuming and is quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The only downside is that the S1 Pro must use a proprietary cleaning solution for its mopping function and is sold separately from the vacuum. It's simple to install and is effective, but this is something that you'll have to be aware of in case you're purchasing this vacuum for the sole purpose of mopping.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo is different from other robot vacuums in its class. It is a powerful cleaning machine with a wide range of features.
The device comes with a powerful cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensor technology with an RGB camera. This allows it to map out the home and also find furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean efficiently and methodically. This results in an efficient, consistent clean which is also relatively fast.
The Q Revo DuoRoller mop pad is capable of reaching many surfaces. They can reach corners or baseboards, as well as other hard-to-reach areas. The side brush can be stretched out to extend to the floor, close to walls and other fixtures. The mop pads can also be washable and dry to reduce odors and prevent buildup.
App-based customization is yet another noteworthy feature. The Q Revo allows you to adjust the strength of suction and choose between a back-andforth or more randomized pattern. You can also alter the number of passes it must make, which will determine how quickly the device can move around your home. You can also choose to disable the side brush to avoid damaging rugs and carpets.
The device is costly, but it comes with a lot of smart features. It's crucial to note that it incurs regular expenses in the form of mopping supplies and maintenance. For instance brushrolls need to be replaced every six to 12 months or after 300 hours. The filter should be cleaned after 150 hours and the mop pad must be replaced every one to three months.
The robot vacuum that mops has an excellent rating on Amazon and offers a wide variety of physical automation features. The robot vacuums with mop vacuum also has an energy button that doubles as a 'Clean' button' as well as a 'Home button that allows it to go back home after cleaning. It also comes with a multi-functional dock that automatically empties the dustbin and refills its water tank to mop and washes and dries its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
The Shark Matrix Plus will be the ideal option for busy professionals or anyone looking to keep their home tidy without spending too much time on chores. Its powerful performance, intelligent navigation, and long battery life allow you to maintain a clean house with minimal effort.
The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop, which means it is able to handle both vacuuming and mopping. The robot comes with two modules: a combined dry bin and water reservoir and a separate mopping system with a microfiber pad that snaps into and out of the way. It's not the most modern thing to have separate modules for mopping and vacuuming however it does mean that you don't have to worry about changing out disposable bags or refilling the tank with water.
The Matrix Plus performed well at both vacuuming and mopping. Its most impressive feature is its precise floorplan map, which it utilizes when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate easily between rugs, furniture, and other obstacles. The app allows you to create 'No-Go Zones' or virtual barriers to prevent certain areas from being cleaned by a mop.
We also found that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well at picking up hair from pets. It was able to collect a lot of the hair sheds from our cats. It even made it into the nooks and crannies of our stairs where other robots struggled. It was silent and also had a few nice jingles that let you know when it was beginning or completing its task.
Its main drawbacks were its lack of sophistication and the need to swap out the modules when switching between mopping and vacuuming. The app isn't able to contain multiple maps, which could be a pain when you live in a house with a mix of floors. The Matrix Plus is a good option for those who want a smart robot that is capable of vacuuming and mopping.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive item in our review. However, it does have certain unique features that make it worth looking into. The X1 Omni is notable for its enormous dock that serves as an charging base for the robot, a cleaning sink and two water tanks of 4 liters. It also houses the 2.5-liter dustbin and the 2.5 milliliter dust bin.
The base comes with a few control buttons, which allow you to manually begin a cleaning task, recall the robot vacuum that vacuums and mops or run the dock's automatic emptying procedure. Press two of the buttons to turn off the child lock that is a great option for parents concerned about their children playing with the vacuum.
Like other robotic vacuums the X1 Omni uses its camera to identify furniture and obstacles in its path and eliminate them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system maps your home 10 times faster than laser detection systems and is four times more precise in recognising objects.
Unfortunately, this means that the X1 Omni will occasionally get caught up in an obstacle--such as a power cord draped across a rug--that it becomes stuck and stops working until you free it. This was a rare incident, but frustrating nonetheless, because the X1 doesn't have an "stuck status" alert in its app.
The X1 Omni cannot automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming mode during cleaning. You'll have to manually swap between the two, which isn't an issue apart from the fact that mopping pads aren't cleaned and dried between uses and can cause mildew or mold.
The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame), who created its sleek modern, contemporary base and mopping pad. It's a major contrast to the utilitarian, all-black bases that are used by rivals like Roborock and iRobot and is a refreshing appearance in a market that is dominated by bulky boxy models.
