X-Men Could Have Rivaled The MCU If It Followed The First Class Plan

Nelson Peltz, an investor interested in winning some board seats at Disney, recently called Kevin Feige's ability to run the MCU into question. These comments come after the recent box office disappointment of The Marvels , and a largely disappointing 2023 for Marvel Studios and its parent company Disney. While there are some concerns that can be raised about the current state of the MCU, it is also worth noting that these statements come from an ally of the controversial ex-Marvel executive, Ike Perlmutt

It's worth noting that The Marvels does include characters like Nick Fury who aren't women, and both Black Panther movies don't have all-Black casts as Peltz claims. Regardless, it is clear Peltz does not support the creative decisions being made by Feige and Mar


Vaughn has stressed that Fox largely kept to his original script for X-Men: Days of Future Past , albeit switching around a couple of secondary characters - notably substituting Quicksilver in the place of Juggernaut , who he had imagined being involved in breaking Magneto out of prison. And yet, for all the script would have been mostly the same, it's hard not to see Vaughn's original plan as a better one. The key is in terms of pacing, with a gradual increase in the stakes; the impending conflict between man and mutant would have been neatly signposted in the second film, and there would have been a clear narrative throughline, with Magneto involved in the Kennedy assassination and imprisoned for it in the third installment.
