Avoiding hits is something important to any Soulsborne entry, but the Abyss-ridden dragon Darkeater Midir makes the idea of tanking anything especially dangerous. Midir has a daunting pool of health and a myriad of devastating AoE (area of effect) attacks to toss players aside who aren't careful and patient eno

After riding up and defeating the magical archer, continue around the left side of the keep. Once you reach the rear of the keep, you’ll come across two Flame Chariot enemies sitting against the wall. Between them, you can loot the powerful incantation, Flame, Grant Me Strength . After approaching the central pile of burning bodies, several will rise from the pile and try to explode on you (you can loot six smoldering butterflies off of the corpse on the fire). This battle can prove extremely challenging, so if you’re having trouble acquiring the incantation, you’ll be able to approach the incantation from a different angle shor

The Elden Ring Seamless Co-op mod does a few key things that make the game way more accessible. In fact, the mod morphs it from being a predominantly single-player game where with a bit of faff you can call on players to help you in times of need, into a full-on co-op experience. The mod lets up to four players adventure together seamlessly, removing barriers so that you can cross fog walls together, all ride your own Torrents, and explore the entire game world without disconnecting. You can even vote on fast-travelling together. It removes pretty much all friction from the co-op aspect of the game.

Despite his size, Radahn is incredibly agile and has ranged cosmic magic in his arsenal to complement his imposing physicality. In addition to story NPCs, players may want to take advantage of Elden Ring 's various Spirit Ash summons to gain an edge in bat

There is not a single sword better in video gaming than Link's iconic weapon, the Master Sword. This sword was first introduced in the third game, A Link to the Past , and has since then been obtained similarly to Link pulling a sword from st

The challenge is welcome to the most ambitious and fortified players of the game, though others would rather stay in their own lane. Where the player chooses to invade must be weighed out in a risk-to-reward basis, and some locations are just too worth it to pass up. From the distracting stomping of the Giants on the Mountaintops Of The Giants to the narrow corridors of Raya Lucaria Academy, taking into account the environmental elements of each location and using them as an advantage can easily lead a player to swift vict

That's how the first forty minutes or so of the Elden Ring multiplayer guide Ring Seamless Co-op mod (played in split-screen on PC courtesy of Nucleus Co-op) looked for my partner and myself. As someone who's completed the vanilla game, I wanted to take a bit of a backseat so that she could experience some of the wonderment of Elden Ring's daunting world without too much direction. A co-op experience that began with me acting as her mentor and guide soon turned into the classically intense Elden Ring gauntlet; the pressure ratcheted as we ascended Stormhill, and soon we were both desperately yelling commands at each other and frantically yet methodically fighting the neon-lit boatman known as the Tibia Mariner.

I was delighted when a couple of my closest friends (who I'd class as moderate gaming enthusiasts) bought Elden Ring, but I never explicitly recommended it to them, knowing that the rules of its unforgiving and distinctly 'FromSoft' world might be difficult for them to adapt to. Despite me pouncing at every opportunity to help them, the by-design awkwardness of co-op summoning in the vanilla game meant that there was only so much I could do.

This sword is incredibly useful against undead warriors like draugr and vampires. However, Dragonborn should be careful when the light explodes as if they themselves are a vampire (or if any of their companions are undead) it will harm them slightly. For players getting swarmed by tons of draugr however, this blade will put them down swif

Elden Ring ’s kingdoms are dotted with forts and castles, locations which intrepid Tarnished are meant to brave for the spoils within. One such location, Fort Gael, is located in the heart of Caelid , one of the more unwelcoming kingdoms in the Lands Betw

Elden Ring's massive commercial appeal as 'an open-world RPG from the mind of George R. R. Martin' (ostensibly) has pulled people into its maelstrom who'd never have considered playing a game like Dark Souls or Bloodborne - maybe even explicitly avoided them due to their daunting reputation. I've no doubt that Elden Ring has opened many peoples' eyes to the wonder of FromSoft games, but I've also seen the Facebook and Twitter posts of confused (and relatively casual) gamers who have struggled to understand what this weird-ass game wants from them. What superficially may look like a Skyrim or a Witcher 3 is anything but.
