Armour is an important component of Baldur's Gate 3. Specifically, you can outfit your character with headwear often referred to as Helmets that sometimes provide specific protections or abilities alongside boosting stats. Searing Smite: Your weapon flares with white-hot intensity. It deals an extra 1d6 Fire damage and marks the target with Searing Smite. A target with Searing Smite takes 1d6 Fire damage everyt turn, until it succeeds on a Constitution saving throw.

Monks already have the ability to attack several times in a single turn, but by losing out on the last two Ki point upgrades and a feat choice, Monks gain this extremely powerful Fighter-exclusive skill.

For Way of Shadow Monks, stealth is the name of the game, and these two abilities give them more ways to get into position faster without being seen. Some other decent racial options for Monks include the Drow, for their proficiency in Stealth, or the Wood Elf, for their extra movement speed.

Monks rely on DEX and WIS for the majority of their abilities, and Way of Shadow Monk builds are no different. Choose a background that either fits with these types of skills for further bonuses to your rolls, like the Criminal which grants proficiency to Stealth (used for Hide) and Deception.

Whether you are a Wood Elf or not, Perception is an important proficiency to have, so prioritize picking it up. Nature, Investigation, and Insight are all very useful in RP situations and for opening up new dialogue choices, too.

After choosing the Criminal or Outlander backgrounds, Monks get two more choices for skill proficiencies. If you choose to go with the Criminal background, Stealth is removed from the list of choices, while Outlanders already have Athletics covered.

There are a lot of large animals that Rangers can choose from in the Beast Master build, but only one of them has an ability that forces enemies to focus on them: the Bear. The companion Bear has 19 HP base, which is upgraded to 39 at Level 5, as well as the Goading Roar (the Taunt) and Claws, which deals Cleave damage in a short range.

From the moment players unlock their Battle Master Animal Companion , all five options are available, and no additional companion choices unlock at later levels. There is the Wolf, Bear, Dire Raven, Boar, and Wolf Spider – and of the five, the Wolf Spider provides the most utility and damage output.
The max level in Baldur's Gate 3 is Level 12, and most of the time, SAG-AFTRA strike impact each level you gain will grant something new for your Monk build.
