As for the building mechanics with the Karakuri? I honestly preferred using them for traversal more than fighting. Grappling hooks, helicopter lanterns, wind turbine generators, jump pads - you name it, there's probably a way to build it. It's like you have the entirety of Crash Bandicoot's level design in your back pocket, if you're willing to invest the time into getting to the best options. That's not purely a matter of grinding either, as certain buildables can only be unlocked at random when facing a Kemono's specific attack, which is... odd. I don't think any other game has had something akin to a PTSD triggering grant unlockables, but you do you, Wild Hearts.

Following some rather lengthy server downtime, Fortnite has officially kicked off a brand new season with some big changes. Alongside some map changes, new features, and bug fixes, there's a brand new battle pass, new weapons, and plenty more for players to jump i

I can’t say Wild Hearts will redefine your outlook on the fantasy hunting genre, nor will it usurp Monster Hunter from its throne, but I don’t think it needs to. Wild Hearts puts its fresh ideas forward, front and center, though it takes a while for them to really make an impact. You really can tell Omega Force (of Dynasty Warriors fame) developed this, in no small part thanks to them cribbing from their past work.

Though Gohan doesn't have access to his Beast form, it is still epic running around as Gohan wearing Piccolo's cloak. However, Gohan does have a harvesting tool that references his Beast form. His second style option is his Super Saiyan form. The character, much like Vegeta and Goku, has a built-in emote that allows him to switch styles mid-game by transforming. If the player uses the emote as Super Saiyan Gohan, Gohan goes through more effort to transform, referencing his Potential Unleashed transformat

The popular female character Bulma was also added as part of Fortnite's first crossover event with Dragon Ball . The outfit was happily received, and fans loved being able to purchase this outfit alongside Vegeta as a bun

Piccolo also has access to his white cloak and turban as a back-bling, but fans may want to use Piccolo's Demon Symbol instead. The Demon King has a miniature form of his house as a harvesting tool too. Not only do Piccolo fans get all of that, but Piccolo has a second style option and a built-in emote that allows him to transform into the power-awakened Piccolo. This is Piccolo's form before fully transforming into the mighty Orange Picc

Fans of parkour and deathrun-like maps will more than just enjoy this well-received Creative map, as Dino Run! makes use of Unreal Engine 5 in one of the most tantalizing ways - introducing a complete T-rex that is larger than expected and chases after players. Dino Run! is a simple deathrun match that eliminates players if they fall beh

Meanwhile, one of the hardest yet most fascinating weapons to wield is an umbrella that lacks major damage output at the start but can actually parry monster attacks directly if you time it right. Players who’d gotten even further unlocked an incredible late-game staff that you can transform on the fly into over a half-dozen different alternate forms of attack. Yet if you want simplicity, you can still break out the swords, pikes, and hammers to slash and smash. It's a solid set of options worth mastering.

My favorite weapon, the bow and arrow, has some wholesale moves from Zelda’s character kit in Hyrule Warriors - just rebalanced to a somewhat more grounded power level. The moves remain as cathartic as ever to unleash though, paired with all sorts of meta-strategies that grant an immense skill-ceiling for each weapon. For instance, my bow could land primed explosive shots that a different arrow type could then trigger, making tremendous explosions dealing substantially more damage.

The total runtime for the launch version of Wild Hearts is expected to be in the 40 to 50 hour range, but with more Kemono planned for free post-launch updates. That sounds like a lot, but for a monster hunting game, it’s actually fairly brisk, which tracks with the smaller selection of weapons as opposed to Monster Hunter World. In many ways, Wild Hearts is the Mortal Shell to Monster Hunter World’s Dark Souls - a leaner, more accessible entry point that captures the core experience without tons of legacy design decisions rolled in.
