The process of watching seeds grow is a great activity for kids, especially when the seeds develop quickly. Alfalfa ( Medicago Sativa) is a simple to cultivate seed which should grow in about a week. For a chance to observe the seeds grow, sprinkle a few alfalfa seeds over a piece of wet paper towel.

What you'll need:
Alfalfa seeds in a packet (about 1.5g)
A small saucer or plate
3 pieces of paper towel
A spray mister or a small water Jug

How to grow:
Put 3 sheets of paper towel on a plate.
Then , drain the water from the plate. The paper towel should be wet but the seeds shouldn't be floating in the water.
Distribute the seeds evenly over the towel.
Put the paper towel on a sunny window and add water to prevent the paper towel from drying out. To moisten seeds, use a spray bottle or بذور حشيشة السودان mister. Or, gently add water into the saucer using either a cup or a small jug.
Check your seeds every day to see how they're developing.

Troubleshooting
Alfalfa is a simple to cultivate plant that will begin to begin to germinate within 2-6 days. If the seeds don't germinate in this time There are a few factors that could have gone wrong:

Too dry: Seeds need water to grow. Seeds of alfalfa absorb approximately half their weight in water prior to they begin to germinate, making the appearance of swollen. If the seeds you have are too dry, they won't sprout. You can add more water to the plate to ensure that the seeds are wet but not floating in water. You can also try soaking your seeds overnight; just ensure that you drain and rinse them off with fresh water prior to spreading them on the paper towel.

Too moist Seeds that are wet may cause their roots as well as their shoots to become rotten before they develop. The seeds could also turn mouldy. It's okay for the paper towel to be wet however, the seeds shouldn't be floating on water. Every time you water or mist the seeds, you should drain the excess water.

Too cold or hot: The best temperature for alfalfa's growth is 20-25degC. If you are growing your seeds during winter, keep them in a cool location indoors. If you're growing your seeds in very hot temperatures, you may have to water the seeds more often as they will dry out quicker.
