World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can boost the value of armors, weapons and rings. They also increase bonuses, such as PvE damage and crit chance.

For example, a weapon with the upgrade template that ends in % will take on 3% attack damage every time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).

The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases as the item's level increases.

Components

Upgrade components can be incorporated into weapons, armor and trinkets to give them a boost in stats or add a bonus effect. These can be obtained by making crafts, buying from vendors, trading with other players or looting. Certain upgrades also come with specific cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be inserted into equipment with a slot for them. The item must have been at a minimum upgraded to blue level to allow a component to be used. Upgrade components, unlike other mods can only be applied only once. They are not able to be replaced or applied multiple times. Infusions and Enrichments are a type of upgrade component that can be used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and Ascended equipment, as well as some non-ascended items. Infusions and enrichments can be retrieved by salvaging gear from the ascended, or by completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Item upgrader kit Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

A prefix or suffix may be added to an upgrade, changing the name of the item it's applied to (for example 'Canthan Armor Insignia',' changes to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost an Item upgrader kit's Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players to create stronger versions of the equipment that require less Upgrade Crystals than would be required to achieve the same upgrade level through normal methods.

A boost upgrade can modify the attack or defense characteristics of a weapon or armor. Once the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist, these upgrades can be made at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades can be purchased by purchasing them from the cash shop, or by collecting them from enemies when upgrading other gear.

The player can get the maximum of five boost upgrades at a time; each upgrade increases the probability that a better-quality version of the item upgrade will drop at the time of the next reset. This gives players a reason to upgrade their equipment even if they are unsure what will be improved after the reset.

The process of upgrading an item could be costly and it's possible that the item upgrader kit will be obsolete, or even break, if the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed when the upgrade fails. This is mitigated by the availability of cash shop items to double or even eliminate possibility of failure, as well as some upgrades that offer a bonus when reinserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to enhance the Paragon Board by placing them in special sockets. Glyphs increase the power of nodes within a radius, including any pre-existing attaches. Glyphs are upgraded in a variety of ways, and we recommend upgrading them to 15 levels as soon as you can.

In the final game you'll often discover that the best way to enhance your gear is to place Glyphs. They are the only upgrade components which can be upgraded to level 15 and offer an enormous boost to your power on the Paragon Board.

Most of the upgrades in the game can be replaced however Glyphs are the one upgrade component that can be removed and replaced without any restrictions. The only exception is legendary equipment that requires an Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and replace.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it from your inventory. You can decide to replace it with a different Glyph with the same rank or a higher rank, which will increase the overall value of the glyph.

You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of an Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain tools for gathering unlimited use and also through Faction Crypt raids. Every Faction Crypt has the chance of dropping one of the numerous Glyphs and there are also a few rare Glyphs that can be obtained as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.

Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs you will require them to be put on your gear. Each Glyph will unlock a unique bonus that can boost a particular set of stat nodes that are within a radius of the Glyph. Based on the Glyph it could be +40 to one of your primary stats, or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

Glyphs will increase the number of nodes connected to them, so it is best to place Glyphs in key spots on the Graph. This will maximize the impact. For example an Druid should try to place their Glyphs close to their primary damage points, however, you may also want to be sure to place them near the most critical damage nodes as well.

Leveling

The upgrade system for items lets players increase the performance of specific items by putting upgraded components in them. This is known as "upping". Each upgradeable item is assigned a level that determines the final statistics. Upgraded items may be leveled up to a maximum of 385. Each level requires a different amount of components, and the upgrade costs increase as the item is advanced in level.

Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient can be obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be bought from NPCs, or on the upgrade tab of the crafting table. Each completed Upgrade Recipe yields some Technology Points. These points can be used to level the item. Once enough points have been earned, the upgrade will be claimed and its additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When a player upgrades an item it is replaced with a new item of the same type. The same armor will be upgraded to the form of a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item will also have its own set bonus. This could be a disadvantage in that the item could become more expensive even if you don't need it.

Upgrades to items can be rerolled, provided that the player has enough reroll tokens in order to do this. The item will be replaced by an entirely new item that has a level 1 basis and totally different bonuses. This is a good idea but it shouldn't be done often as it can waste resources.

Some upgrades can be rerolled multiple times to increase their value, giving players the ability to alter their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it gives buffs when the player is repeatedly in or exits the water. The item can be upgraded multiple times, increasing the maximum roll each time by 10 increments. This item can be extremely useful in PvP battles, since a perfectly rolled version of it could be worth between 20 and 50x its value if it is not upgraded.

Requirements

The item upgrades upgrader allows players to increase the level of their equipment (armor weapons, weapons trinkets, and armor) above ilvl 385 by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrading armor set pieces will also increase the defense base of that piece, while upgrading weapons will increase the base damage and required strength and dexterity to meet the upgraded equipment's requirements.

All items are upgradeable up to five times, with the exception for hero equipment, which is able to be upgraded eight times. Every time you upgrade a piece of equipment, it is at risk of failing. The failure rate increases as you move beyond the maximum number. Failures can cause the item to go to its original state, which will force the user to spend more money on materials than they would had they stopped upgrading at the maximum number of upgrades.

If an item does not upgrade the amount of experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. The item will also lose any bonuses it gained like crit chance damage to attack, other effects (such as increased heal over time or the speed of reloading). However, the user can still continue to use the weapon or armor after the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that the weapon that is upgraded increases its crit chance it will be applied prior to any attack damage increases. Slots is a new attribute that was added to the definitions of items. The value is calculated each time an upgrade occurs.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is determined on the rarity rating and number of upgrade slots. The cost for upgrading non-premium items is the same as the base value of the upgrade. For instance, a typical equipment item might have 5 upgrades, each costing 25,600 Technology Points and 4x Quality Improvement Chance--whereas hero quality items will have an incredibly lower cost for each upgrade.

Premium items have different upgrade requirements than standard gear--for instance, they might require fewer sowels, but more minerals and erons. The player will need to carry every piece of gear they wish to upgrade to NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. Each equipment upgrade will require different amounts of ingredients needed to upgrade, in addition to the cost mentioned above.
