The Best Robot Hoover

The best robot vacuum that mops robot hoover can clean and mop without requiring your attention. It leaves your floors spotless. Its affordable price and high-end functions (such as a dirt detectors) are positives.

Examine your robot's brush regularly for tangled debris as well as hair. Wash them if needed. Some models also self-empty their dust bin on board into a larger bin at the base, which reduces the amount of fine dust that is released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 Pro

The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive counterpart, the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums that we have tested. They are equipped with motors that are top of the line and can suction up to 5,500 Pascals. And, like other top iRobot models (including the top-rated model) they employ smart mapping technology to create precise floor plans and eliminate common obstacles like cords and furniture legs. They also come with a feature called carpet boost that boosts the robot's performance when it detects an abundance of dirt on the carpet to get it cleaned quickly.

The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored extremely well in our tests on bare floors and are especially adept at cleaning dog hair. However, they do have a few flaws that keep them from being our top pick. One of the weaknesses of the Q5 is its navigation system doesn't have AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's therefore prone to become stuck on shoes and socks and could not navigate rooms with lots of people efficiently during our tests. It also doesn't come with a camera to look around corners.

It's still a good value, especially if your home or office has a lot of bare floors and you want to save some money. It's also extremely quiet and operates when you're at work or school. The only thing it lacks that you won't find in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming of floors with no floor. It's also less effective in mopping, as it relies on disposable wet wipes that don't hold on well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 does have a self-emptying dock, though. If you're in need of it clean the mopping pad, it can be changed for a wet one in just a few seconds.

2. IRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact elegant vacuum cleaner that also has the ability to sweep floors. Its smart cleaning maps and quick navigation make it easy to clean and effective in tackling larger particles like pet hair. It also comes with self-emptying dustbins as well as powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the best robotic hoover for carpets but it's not as good as other hoovers when it comes to deep cleaning.

This high-performance vacuum and mops utilizes sensor technology that can stay clear of obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the structure of your home over time and ensure cleaner and more efficient cleaning. You can change its cleaning schedule and set up zones using the app that is well-designed. Its battery life is average when compared to other models.

You can tell the X30 Ultra to remove its mop and extend them when in a room with carpet, which helps prevent cross-contamination. Its flex arm is also great for getting under low-lying furniture and Best Robot Hoover along baseboards. It's not as efficient on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

During tests, X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop to complete the task of cleaning a whole home, with 66 per cent of its battery remaining. It also did an excellent job of cleaning robot mop and vacuum a mix of floors and rooms that had various flooring types, such as certain area carpets. Its obstacle detection was top notch and it swiftly eluded fake dog turds, socks, shoes and cables.

It's a bit more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but has superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empties into the base. It also supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It is able to clean floors even after it vacuums. This is something we haven't seen before on other robot vacuum/mop combination.

3. iRobot Roomba X40

With an elegant, circular design that looks more like a regular Roomba than the competitors' boxes this mop and robot vacuum is one of the most appealing looking in our reviews. iRobot’s latest flagship model is also among its most advanced. It comes with advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection as well as future compatibility (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads on its own).

It's also the only robotic vacuum or mop that scored a perfect 10 out of 10 in our testing. This is thanks to the combination of high-tech sensors including a structured lighting system, a camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation in a self-contained manner. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mop mops.

Like other iRobot models as well, the X40 is easy to use, offering an easy mobile app interface, and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit as well as Google Assistant. The only downside is that the X40 is still a noisy unit. This could be a problem in mornings before work or in the evening when you're trying to sleep.

It's also a bit expensive but not as expensive as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or the Roborock S8 Omni, which are both equally capable and better looking. If you're willing with a bit more noise and some extra cost, this is a very capable two-in-one that should satisfy most people.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the line robot vacuum and mop. It has a number of features that are advanced and will make you forget about your chores. Similar to Ecovacs' range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that takes charge of both mopping and vacuuming, with a multifunction dock that automatically emptys the vacuum's dustbin, refills its water tank, washes and dries its mop pads.

The smart robot utilizes LIDAR and structured lighting to map out floorplans and identify obstacles. It can navigate more efficiently than its competitors with premium features. It also comes with a front-mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards but this wasn't 100% reliable in our tests and was sometimes confused with obstructions or power cords.

The vacuum cleaner has an maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to accomplish the task. It also comes with "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the amount of time the vacuum works and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas of your home in accordance with the amount of dirt they are.

For larger homes, it's worth opting for models with spot or zone cleaning modes that let you tell the robot to clean one specific area of your home by using the app or voice commands. A stair mode can be beneficial if you have lot furniture. Finally a recharge and resume function that lets your robot hoover vacuum take over exactly where it left off is great for busy families.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is more sophisticated than its price suggests. It is a good vacuum cleaner, picking up 55% debris in our tests. (It was only second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses using one pad and a reciprocating motion which is cleaner than the majority mop cleaners for robots that we've tried. It's also self-sufficient with a full-featured app and a self emptying base that can be washed.

The well-designed iRobot application guides you through an initial mapping run that gathers information about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you set on the map. It can be used to design cleaning schedules or to organize the spot-cleaning. It can also be used to it to rank your most filthy areas for greater efficiency. The app also gives access to a host of features, such as seasonal suggestions, custom maps and advanced settings for your cleaning.

It can also reach corners and under furniture better because its shape is more rectangular. It also has a strong 8,000 Pascal suction and combs that are intelligent for hair of pets. You can also organize a spot-cleaner that thoroughly cleans an area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker and less expensive alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It is more appealing in its style, much like Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are shaped like cute little eyes. It is excellent at vacuuming, but it is more likely to be stuck on low thresholds. It is also noisier than other top robot vacuums that we have tested. It also has an app that's less intuitive and a small base station that does not double as a bin to empty.
