As for the building mechanics with the Karakuri? I honestly preferred using them for traversal more than fighting. Grappling hooks, helicopter lanterns, wind turbine generators, jump pads - you name it, there's probably a way to build it. It's like you have the entirety of Crash Bandicoot's level design in your back pocket, if you're willing to invest the time into getting to the best options. That's not purely a matter of grinding either, as certain buildables can only be unlocked at random when facing a Kemono's specific attack, which is... odd.
