The complaint from last week stands that there are an abundance of characters and only so much time to introduce and explore them properly. However, for what it's worth, this episode, full of mostly new characters, does very well by them. With four episodes remaining, the series has built itself up nicely despite all the troubles of mobile game adaptations , and it'll be very exciting to see if it can stick the land
With that said, Arknights ' premiere does a fine job of introducing audiences to the world of Terra through the eyes of the protagonist much in the same way a game might. Perhaps the amnesia trope and the resulting exposition can come off as a tiresome conceit to the mobile game's trappings, but it's all in service of translating the game's mechanics into a functional st

Arknights ' premiere had promise, but it didn't quite go above and beyond to offer a climax or plot hook that felt particularly strong. However, its artwork and direction were just striking enough to pique curiosity and instill some hope that it could get better, and that bet seems to be paying off so
A terrorist group named Reunion wages war against the government of Ursus, and though they were once merely activists, they became tired of the prejudice. The protagonists are stuck in the middle, members of Rhodes Island, a group researching a cure for Oripathy and attempting to save those stuck in the midst of the war between the two facti

In stark contrast to the towering buildings seen in the early episode, the slums of Lungmen appear almost a world away, and it's there that we find Misha, an Ursus girl on the run. She's hidden among the undocumented infected flocking to Lungmen, though not much else is revealed about her thus far. It's only known that she's wanted by the authorities and that plenty of punks in the slums are searching for
The infected are made outcasts, prompting many to join a militant group called Reunion in opposition to the world governments. Between the resistance movement and the corrupt governments are the protagonists, the operators of Rhodes Island, led by the protagonist and player character, "Doct
Once again, the background art of locations is stunning, with the use of depth of field to give the imagery a particularly filmic look at times. This is the kind of globe-trotting adventure story that thrives specifically because of its art direction and with anime's arguable decline in background art quality, the industry should take notes from this s
In these quieter moments, when the artwork brings the scenery to life, there's this palpable sense of empathy among the characters, who find themselves caught between dogmatic narratives. Amiya especially has this kindness to her that at first marks her as somewhat standard and perhaps uninteresting. After this episode though, she seems a lot cooler and the heart behind Rhodes Island's efforts to help people, no matter
One of the Rhodes Island soldiers angrily expresses that the clinic got what was coming to it, as they had refused to help Rhodes Island as well. What followed was an interesting monologue by Amiya, who expresses that even if they have a commonality, it doesn't make it easy to trust people. She expresses how humans build walls to feel safe because they want some degree of norma
