But, the dream scenario most fans are probably hoping for is that they'll remix many of the iconic songs from these shows into full tracks similar to how Smash did. We'd love to see a version of "Icky Vicky" from Fairly Odd Parents tailored to a fighting game or even a different rendition of "Gooby Goober" from the first Spongebob movie.


A fighting game generally has a bunch of characters that can get into the fight and throw some punches with the best of them, but some characters don't have those abilities. While character entrances probably won't dynamically change gameplay, they will at least flesh out each character's respective Nickelodeon universe. Perhaps the trailer is alluding to unlockable or secret animations that can be equipped from a character screen.

With it seeming like the roster can cover all of Nickelodeon's history, there are plenty of characters that fans are clamoring for to be in this potential new franch

Of course, even a casual fighting game player could piece this joke together, but the audience who has played games made by Arc System Works like Dragon Ball FigherZ or Guilty Gear Strive with weird lobby systems will understand this joke on a deeper level.

At this point, their entire marketing campaign for the game is based around the similarities to the Smash franchise anyway, so maybe they should just double down on it and include Nickelodeon off-brand Smash Bros reference characters in their already-quite-large roster.
