Since the Beast Master Subclass gets its strongest features at level 11, it is typically ill-suited to multiclassing. That said, players could take a level in Fighter to gain an extra fighting style, or a level in Barbarian for access to Rage (though Raging will prevent the Ranger from casting or concentrating on spells.)
If you're aiming for a ranged Ranger build, you'll want to pick up some of the powerful ranged weapons the game has to offer. Early on, your best longbow options are the Spellthief, Joltshooter, or Titanstring Bow (the latter is only useful if you have high strength too, but it can deal incredible damage if you do.) Your best early shortbow options are the Hunting Shortbow, Bow of the Banshee, or Darkfire Shortbow.
At level two, Light Domain Clerics gain the ability "Radiance of the Dawn", allowing them to dispel magical darkness and deal radiant damage to all enemies within 9ft as an Action. This can be useful since magical darkness can't be penetrated by non-magical means, and the radiant damage is also very nice.
Combat Maneuvers are a fantastic addition to any martial class , so players will likely get lots of mileage out of mixing this subclass with Paladin, Barbarian, and Ranger. Monks can make use of Combat Maneuvers too, though many of the Monk's best subclass features require heavy level investment and are thus tricky to work into multiclass builds.
At level six, Abjuration Wizards get the ability "Projected Ward," which allows them to spend points from their Arcane Ward to reduce the damage a nearby ally takes from an attack. At level 10, Abjuration Wizards get "Improved Abjuration," which allows them to increase the potency of their arcane ward when they take a short rest. After a short rest, their Arcane Ward's intensity is increased by an amount equal to their Wizard level. This can give them a decent amount of extra HP to work with when protecting themselves and their allies.
The first of these that players can find are the boots of Striding and the Shapeshifter's Boon Ring. The former are dropped by Minthara in Act 1 and will grant boosted movement speed and immunity to the "prone" condition while the wearer is concentrating on a spell. If the Druid is concentrating on a spell before entering Wildshape, this effect will remain while they are in Wildshape. The Shapeshifter's Boon Ring is dropped by the Strange Ox in Act 1 (or obtained by following it's questline all the way to the end in Act Baldur's Gate 3 races Guide) and grants a 1d4 bonus to all ability checks when in Wildshape.
The War Domain's extra attack bonus action is incredibly powerful since it can be used alongside additional attacks gained from other classes. This makes the War Cleric particularly suited to multiclassing with the Fighter and Paladin. The Extra Attack also works while Wildshaped, so taking a small dip into War Cleric can add a lot of extra power to a Moon Druid, though this will be limited by the small number of Channel Divinity charges available.
"Dread Ambusher: Hide" simply allows them to hide as a bonus action. "Umbral Shroud" allows them to become invisible as an action as long as they are obscured. "Superior Darkvision" allows the Gloom Stalker to see up to 24m in darkness without issue. They also automatically learn "Disguise Self" as a first level spell.
Since the Battle Master specializes in Combat Maneuvers, they can benefit a lot from weapons with longer reach. Great options early on include the Monster Slaying Glaive (Act 1, Sold by Roah Moonglow at the Goblin Camp), the Sorrow Glaive (Act 1, Inside the Druid Grove's Vault), The Skinburster Halberd (Act 1, in the Inquisitor's Chamber at the Githyanki Creche), The Returning Pike (Act 1, Sold by the Goblin Trader at the Goblin Camp), and the Unseen Menace Pike (Act 1, Sold by the Trader in the Githyanki Creche.) During Act 2 players can grab the Drakethroat Glaive from Roah Moonglow in Moonrise, which allows them to buff weapons with elemental damage and offers tremendous versatility. Lann Tarv, also in Moonrise Towers, sells the Halberd of Vigilance. This Halberd grants its wielder advantage on any attack made as a reaction (ideal for attacks of opportunity) alongside a +1 bonus to initiative and advantage on perception checks. If you choose to free the Nightsong you can also pick up the Moonlight Glaive, which can conjure glowing butterflies around a target via a special attack. These glowing butterflies grant advantage on attacks against that target.
In terms of equipment, Trickery Clerics can get some very useful gear from the Gauntlet of Shar in Act 2. The Dark Justiciar set can be found throughout the Gauntlet and offers powerful bonuses relating to stealth and mobility. Players can acquire the Dark Justiciar Helmet in a Gilded Chest found at X: -822, Y: -753. This helmet boosts saving throws against spells, reduces the number needed to score a critical hit by 1 while the wearer is obscured, and grants a +1 to constitution saving throws.
