Cloud9 Interview: Karnage Cotto Rolex And Ian Huston
I live in Far Rockaway, New York, which was badly damaged by Hurricane Sandy. I do these interviews with people in L.A., whose houses are on fire, while in New York, we're just waiting for another hurricane to come and wash us away for good. I've interviewed people in Australia , and they're having some bad fires, too. But possibly the biggest environmental disaster right now is in the Amazon rainforest. It's still on fire right now, being destroyed as we sp
Of course, the core elements of the battle royale genre were well established long before its release, but PUBG pulled the essential experience together and delivered it to a much bigger audience. The fact that it's still the go-to solution for a more grounded, realistic battle royale experience today is a strong testament to its wo
In addition to its hero-shooter elements, Apex brought a lot of new tricks that were quickly emulated by its competitors, namely Fortnite . If Fortnite has seen fit to take notes, well, it should be clear that Apex is doing it ri
No. Me and the family, we sort of moved away from TV and video games and Virtual Camaraderie iPads and computers and iPhones. We try to get our kids outside and have them be as intertwined with the environment as possible. That's what I had when I was a kid. When I was a kid, I had a skateboard and the outside. If I was thirsty, I'd drink from a hose that I found, you know? There was that sense of, like, when the sun comes up, you go outside, and you play outside until the sun goes down. Those were my weekend days and my summer days. We really want our kids to have as much of that as possible. We want them to play outside and swim. They're really big right now with the neighbor kids playing "ding dong ditch," which is awesome because, as annoying as it is for us adults, it's really cool that the kids are into that! That was a huge part of growing up for me. And they're playing frisbee and riding bikes and skateboards and doing those outdoor activities. That means a lot to myself and Megan, and that's a big part of our family and what we do. When weekends come around, we're like, "Okay, what the activity going to be? What are we gonna do? Are we gonna go to a zoo? Aquarium? The museum?" We've got to find an activity. We can't just stay at home. There's too much going on in the world to sit at home and watch
Most publishers, however, won’t be willing to act on these suggestions. As previously mentioned, the Chinese market is often very lucrative, and region-locking won’t do away with the fundamental issue of cheating. A quarantine of all Chinese players will do nothing but frustrate both standard players and hackers alike in that area, and, should the region’s interest in the game fade because of an artificial blockade, Electronic Arts could stand to lose quite a bit of inco
Rolex: My personal mission statement is to welcome those that are behind the blinds just taking a peak at what is going on. Many players don’t want to go "pro" because they believe they don’t have the capability to. But at the end of the day, just take that leap of faith and follow your dreams. I hope the PUBG Mobile community and even the mobile community grows and becomes something exponentially huge. Because I can see that the ability to cultivate is th
However, that's also precisely why Firestorm doesn't climb higher on the list. While it fits into the Battlefield series perfectly, it fails to really push the envelope in terms of gameplay. There's not a whole lot Firestorm does that other battle royale games aren't doing, outside of providing much more fulfilling vehicular gameplay than most of t
Rapid-fire, or full auto, is typically used exclusively in close-quarter combat. Due to the intense recoil of PUBG __ keeping your weapon in full auto is both a waste of bullets and an impossible to control. However, when used in close range fights, full auto can quickly dispatch of an enemy even with minimal accuracy. "Spraying and praying" in a match of PUBG can be a valid strategy, but only in high-risk close range engagements, otherwise it is a inefficient use of a
After taking part in the PUBG Mobile Star Challenge tournament, we asked members of the team about their careers as esports competitors, about the history and evolution of esports as a professional institution, and their personal responsibilities as ambassadors of gaming to the wide world of spo
A Chinese redditor recently posted an attempt at explaining the culture surrounding gaming in their home country, and they seem to suggest that, for many of their peers, the ends justify the means when it comes to online gaming. While most Western gamers are apt to feel that a victory is meaningless if they cheated their way to the top, a significant number of gamers in China don’t share those same qua
When PUBG was breaking records left and right and boasting player counts that gave Valve’s Dota 2 a run for its money, Bluehole seemed content to rest on their laurels and sporadically introduce updates while refusing to respond to player criticisms. The battle royale boom of early-to-mid 2018 saw them making money hand-over-fist, and a major reason for that was due to their popularity in the Chinese gaming space. As a result, the developer wasn’t all that keen on doing anything to harm an extremely profitable economy despite the fact that it came at the behest of Western play
