|
Red Dead Redemption 2 is a larger than life game with so many little details around the vast open world. The creators, Rockstar, are well known for their captivating and in-depth storylines in series like Grand Theft Auto , Bully, Max Payne , and L.A. Noire . As in many of their other titles, the developers have snuck several easter eggs into the vast world of Red Dead Redemption 2. These easter eggs have spawned many conspiracy theories around different parts of the game, including things that have to do with side characters and even Arthur Morgan himself. Everything from the supernatural to something as a blind man who can see the fut

The thematic discrepancies of this game couldn't be more evident to me every time that goddamn deer showed up in Arthur Morgan's dreams. These are brief sequences that felt like a fetishization of the frontier—they recall not just nostalgia for the Old West, but for the first Red Dead Redemption game, with the basic melody of the theme playing in the background. It can be debated for hours what the English-class level metaphor that the deer is meant to represent, but I had this feeling that by showing us Arthur trying to remember the "glory" of the West, the game is trying to invoke the same feeling in the player. Think of the way that Kingsman: The Secret Service attempted to argue in favor of bringing back the camp and irony of old spy films, which undid its own argument when the movie ended with an homage to sex scenes of James Bond films past, reminding viewers of how problematic that era was.

A character that players will run into throughout the game is a blind old man that begs for money on the side of the road. If you actually comply and give him the money he will act as a fortune teller and tell you a tidbit about your character. The prophet part comes in when he accurately predicts things that will happen to Arthur Morgan, like predicting the betrayal of Micah and ultimately Arthur's passing. Even later in the game when playing as John Marston the blind prophet accurately tells John things that happened to him in the first Red Dead Redempti

[pullquote]"Thematically, both [https://Www.Reddeadinsider.com/ red dead redemption 2 beginner guide] Dead Redemption 2 and The Assassination of Jesse James focus on a commune of criminals and gang members, led by a charismatic leader who the rest of the gang eventually become disillusioned with." You'll just happen upon them now and again on your travels as you loot houses. But, if you want to collect them all for 100% completion or something, this absolutely sti

Lancer's design is hilarious; I love the thought of a chubby spade who rides a bicycle. I won't reveal any of the plot details, because if you've played Undertale but not Deltarune you have to go jump into it right now. It's a blast, and you should be playing it. If not, go play Undertale then this game. I'll be waiting. I'd put this game as number 1 if so many amazing AAA games didn't exist. Let's get into those now.

The Arcadia for Amateurs questline is one you'll be encountering quite a few times throughout Arthurs journey. Albert Mason is actually an exceptionally likable character, which is rare in a Rockstar game, where everyone is essentially sociopaths. He's actually a nature photographer which some awful luck and steadfast determination. Throughout your many encounters, you save him from wolves, crocodiles, horses and m

As 2018 comes to a close, DualShockers and our staff are reflecting on this year’s batch of games and what were their personal highlights within the last year. Unlike the official Game of the Year 2018 awards for DualShockers , there are little-to-no-rules on our individual Top 10 posts. For instance, any game — not just 2018 releases — can be considered.

Tetris Effect is a gem of an experience. With incredible, entrancing visuals that make you feel like you're in either the next Star Wars combined with a mixture of audio that flies around your brain and sucks you into the dreamscape, Tetris Effect is a masterpiece. Each movement subtly synchronizes itself with the music playing in the background, with the BPM adapting to your placements and rotations. For something as simple as Tetris , this game really puts an Effect on you.

First is shooting bottles off their heads. Then they want punches straight to the face. Finally, they prove their commitment through going over a waterfall in two separate barrels and miraculously survive. Honestly, it's some of the funniest stuff in the game, the only downside is that it's split into three separate interactions, and they don't pop up on the map, you have to either follow a guide or happen upon t

Next on our list is one of the only "non-stranger" missions on here. The bloodcurdling questline is actually just a random encounter and isn't officially designated as a "stranger mission".
