|
Whenever Fable 4 is planning to hit shelves, Xbox needs to highlight that it's coming out the gate strong and delivering what the fans want. It needs to show it has the system selling names, the exclusives, and the groundbreaking ideas to hang alongside the likes of Sony and stake itself a bigger claim in the generation to come. Microsoft has already shown that the Series X has groundbreaking technology and its marketing thus far has been wonderfully open and honest. All it needs now is a killer game that shows off exactly what the console can do, and Fable 4 seems to be exactly t

The shift between video game morality when the first Fable game released — all the way back in September 2004 — and now has been massive. Fable helped lay the foundation for morality as a central factor in games, and watching a character slowly grow horns as they fall further into evil is still neat, but it has far less weight than what fans expect to see

Today, several games were shown during Microsoft's Inside Xbox event, the first of a series of events that are being planned over the next few months. With a first-party event planned for July, the focus was on third-party games coming to Xbox Series X, and while the Assassin's Creed: Valhalla "gameplay" reveal was the [https://adventurejourneyhub.com/articles/my-epic-journey-through-star-wars-outlaws-confessions-of-a-scoundrel.html Star Wars Outlaws] attraction, there was a surprising number of next-gen horror games featured in the showc

Developed by Ebb Software and heavily inspired by the works of H. R. Giger, the original designer of the Xenomorph from Alien , Scorn is a first-person horror game that was first announced all the way back in 2014. After ongoing issues with funding, Scorn is back and in development for Xbox Series X and PC. Set in a nightmarish universe, Ebb Software has designed the game around the idea of players being thrown into an unsettling environment that makes them question what they see. Each location contains its own theme, and players will need to acquire skills, unlock weapons, and complete puzzles to make it out al

During Bethesda's E3 presentation last year, The Evil Within and The Evil Within 2 developer Tango Gameworks revealed that it was working on a new survival-horror game, Ghostwire: Tokyo. Not a lot is currently known about Ghostwire: Tokyo , only that it's not a traditional horror game, but an action-adventure where players will need to rid the city of Tokyo of paranormal enemies and supernatural evil. Given that no release window or platforms were announced, it seems safe to say Ghostwire: Tokyo is eyeing the next-generation consoles, although this is currently speculat

That being said, it's a necessary change for a modern title. Ideally, there will be a balance between the old system and the creation of the new one, though, with no game confirmed so far, it's difficult to say what exactly that will look like. Fans may get a decent idea if the game is announced at Xbox's July event, though they'll just have to wait and find

Microsoft still stole the show with its briefing, though. The Halo and Gears announcements were well received, among others, but none as much as the upcoming console now going by the name Project Scarlett.

However, when looking at the long list of Microsoft and Sony franchises that could make the jump to next-generation hardware, it's fairly evidently who has the edge. Taking star power and prominent, marketable franchises into account, Sny is packing several massive names that are each easy system sellers. Horizon, Spider-Man, God of War , The Last of Us, Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted; these are all series that are offering fresh, interesting concepts that fans are clamoring to see more of, and that's without even mentioning all the currently dormant franchises that Sony could dip its toes back into as w

Mafia 2 is a 1940s and early 50s mobster game inspired by classic movies like The Godfather and Goodfellas . Halo: Infinite is undeniably a massive draw, but it's far from something entirely new for the franchise, especially with Microsoft continuing to pump out fairly frequent Halo titles over the past decade. Naturally, Xbox could provide followups to titles like Crackdown 3, Sea of Thieves, and Recore, but very few of these games managed to impress players or build giant fanbases when they launched during the Xbox One's life cy

Perhaps the most unique upcoming horror game, Monstrum 2, is a 4v1 multiplayer horror game where players must survive in a procedurally generated labyrinth set in a decaying sea fortress. As a direct sequel to Team Junfish's 2015's rogue-lite Monstrum , four players take on the role of survivors and will need to scavenge for supplies and find hidden access routes to important equipment, all while trying to survive from a terrifying lab experiment gone wrong.
