|
Bug Fables is weaponized nostalgia. Moonsprout Games set out to make a game that would bring you back to the mid-90s and early-2000s, and if you played RPGs back on the SNES or N64, then this is going to unleash all the tingly feelings of your childhood stored at the back of your br

In fact, it is one of the most pirated games Ubisoft has ever created. Why? Because you can't buy it legally anywhere. It's missing on Steam , GOG , and even Ubisoft's own UPlay store. It receives that attention for good reason, though . This game allowed players to control any vehicle on the road, allowing for some creative puzzles and narrative elements no other driving game has since attempted. It is also the only video game to attempt a second-person perspective for a level. This game was truly innovative and creative, which makes it even worse that you can't legally purchase it anymore.

The combat is the most obvious example of Bug Fables borrowing liberally from Mario's roleplaying adventures. The way you attack enemies is dependent upon different timing sequences and button presses. Moves will require stopping an arrow inside of a meter or timing an attack by holding down the joystick until the right moment, and enemy attacks can be blocked by hitting the A button just as they hit you to reduce the damage you suffer. It's all very derivative, but excellent, and Bug Fables throws in enough of its own flair so it doesn't feel like a complete imitat

Aside from minor nitpicks, I found myself smiling from ear to ear playing Bug Fables . Yes, it is definitely coasting on a major wave of nostalgia, but it feels fantastic. It absolutely nails the combat, the visual style, and the general tone and vibe of the Paper Mario games. It's a little awkward in places, but that honestly didn't stop me from enjoying this game immens

The dog from Duck Hunt is one of the oldest video game dogs, as Duck Hunt was released for the NES in 1984 . Unlike other dogs in gaming, the duck hunt dog is actually one of the most hated characters. This is because he would laugh at players if they missed du

While Microsoft has yet to unveil what other first-party games are coming to Xbox Series X, that's likely to change sooner rather than later. Microsoft is expected to showcase its big first-party Xbox Series X games at a special Xbox 20/20 presentation in July , which will likely see a number of big announcements for the new cons

A major complaint from many animal-loving gamers is when there are cute animals, but you cannot pet or interact with them. Luckily, Polterpup became available for pets, and he certainly deserves them for being a good

You play as a team of three bugs who join the Explorers Guild in order to find the Sapling and gain fortune and glory. There's the chivalrous, good-natured beetle, Kabbu; the overzealous, money-hungry bee, Vi; and the mysterious, amnesiac moth, Leif (because every RPG needs someone with amnesia.) Through fate, these three are bonded together and venture through the various lands of Bugaria, hunting down artifacts that will hopefully reveal the location of the Everlasting Sapl
Many praise Goldeneye and Perfect Dark for their superb gunplay back on the N64 and older consoles. What many don't know, though, is that many of those developers went on to create a spiritual successor to those titles called TimeSplitters .

Compared to the likes of Oblivion , Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning focused on making engaging combat with incredibly flexible character customization. This game did flexible classes before Skyrim did. The setting had great care put into it, but it is such a shame this series never took off or got a sequel.

Meet Destroy All Humans , a game that revolves around controlling an alien and blowing everything to smithereens. Buildings, people, cows, nothing is safe from Crypto. There is a story in each game, but it takes a backseat compared to the ludicrous amounts of fun the game lets you have. You can fling humans to walls, blow up skyscrapers, and use your flying saucer to take out armies of soldiers. The game doesn't take itself too seriously, which helps with the fun factor. There is a remake for the original title that should release this year, so hopefully, that will generate enough interest to get this series back on people's radars.

Obviously, the team at Moonsprout Game couldn't get Nintendo to give them Mario, so they went and created their own tiny world. Bug Fables takes place in a kingdom of various bugs, who by order of the queen of the ants - naturally named Elizant - are searching for an ancient relic known as the Everlasting Sapling which can grant its owner eternal l

With each passing year, game trailers seem to leap forward in terms of style, presentation, and emotional weight.
