Using a fingernail, carefully remove the cover from the back of the key fob. A button should be located underneath the cover on a diagonal, near the edge of the body. Remove it by sliding it downwards and then to the right. The cover will come loose, and then slide off, revealing the manual blade! If you're not able to locate the button, look around the now-uncovered manual key access for a hidden lever or slot.

Close the Windows

One of the lesser-known features that is not visible on Volvo key fobs is the ability to roll down all of the windows immediately with the fobs. This is a fantastic feature to have when trying to squeeze into a cramped parking space, or just when you're in need of fresh air inside the cabin while driving.

Press and hold the unlocking button on your Volvo remote control for four seconds. This will lower all the windows, and the sunroof if your vehicle has one. When you're done with your vehicle, you can close all windows by pressing the lock key for four seconds.

You can also use your key fob to turn on your car's panic alarm. This will make an ominous sound that will draw attention and discourage thieves. It also helps you to get home safely even if you've been out for the night. This feature is handy when you reside in an area that is dangerous or want to protect your family while away from home.

The opening of the Tailgate

Turning off the Alarm

Choose a clean, flat surface and lay out your key fob, battery, and other keys. The cover should loosen and fall off and reveal the mechanical key blade beneath it.

Press the button to unlock the key fob twice quickly, and you should be able to open all doors and the tailgate.
