We're committed to staying at the top of the game and have several cutting-edge projects in place. Our research into a new method to treat blood cancer, called leukemia by reprogramming the patient's cells to recognize and fight the cancer, has taken us in a totally new direction.
The results of our work can have a profound effect on our patients. One of the most exciting findings is that overall survival is improving over time. The chance of relapses occurring within five years following diagnosis is also decreasing.

The surveillance system for CYP-C is funded by PHAC and operated jointly by a group of seventeen pediatric oncology centres: Alberta Children's Hospital, Allan Blair Cancer Centre, British Columbia Children's Hospital, CancerCare Manitoba, Children's Health and Research Institute of Ontario (CHRI), Izaak Walton Killam Health Sciences Centre, Janeway Children's Health and Rehabilitation Centre, Kingston General Hospital, McMaster University, Montreal Children's Hospital, Saskatoon Cancer Centre and The Hospital for Sick Children. Each of the participating centres collected case-level data on all children diagnosed as having childhood cancer using an entry form for data.
