Australians are sitting down to early dinners of fish, chips and ice cream in isolation, new data from Deliveroo reveals.
A nationwide analysis of orders shows fish and chips has become the country's favourite crisis meal, with a staggering 597 percent increase in orders shooting the classic into the app's top five dishes over the past six weeks. 
People are eating earlier, with peak delivery times shifting 43 minutes forward as millions working from home escape their usual lengthy commutes.
While average weekday orders typically peak at 7.06pm, the evening spike has moved back to 6.23pm since Australia entered lockdown on March 23.
Friday now rivals Saturday as the most popular night of the week for ordering take out, as the prospect of after-work drinks leading to late nights on the town fades to a distant memory.

Pizza is now the most-searched for category, followed by Thai and sushi, with searches shifting from specific restaurant to more general food terms.
There's been been a significant drop in orders for burgers, which were Australia's most popular takeaway menu item in 2019.
Ice cream orders have risen by 139 percent as more indulge in dessert than ever before, while interest in biscuits and chocolate cakes has also skyrocketed.

Deliveroo spokesperson Joe Satari said Australians' diets and routines have changed dramatically as a result of coronavirus.
'Dining habits have shifted during these unprecedented times,' he said in a statement on Monday.
'The importance of food and sharing it with loved ones has become more important than ever before, and we're glad that Deliveroo is able to bring these little moments of joy into homes across Australia.'
